About this qualification

This Qualification has been designed in collaboration with Skills for Care and the Department of Health and Social Care in order to develop and recognise the essential skills of those working in the social care sector. The content covers the skills and knowledge requirements, with workplace observation to support assessment and confirm skills. It is expected to be taken by learners across a wide range of roles and can be offered alongside or after an Induction programme. There are 15 units and learners need to pass all of these to obtain the Certificate, however for those who have previously completed the Care Certificate or have undertaken other related courses the use of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is encouraged. We have a standard registration fee of £95 per learner, we would however welcome discussion with those who may wish to support larger numbers of learners undertaking the qualification.

Funding

IMPORTANT UPDATE | 31st May 2024

Due to the recent announcement of the General Election, taking place on 4th July 2024, the DHSC have stated that ‘any decisions or wider activity relating to making that funding available should be suspended for the time being, pending fresh consideration by the government that will form following the General Election.”

Funding availability will be updated in the weeks following the General Election result.

In the meantime, we are still committed to supporting those wishing to offer the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate, and whilst we await further updates on the the funding offer and mechanism, we will continue to be available to discuss delivery and assessment options.
