microcredentials
IT Productivity Pathways
OCN London’s microcredentials pathways in IT Productivity provide learners with knowledge of the key IT Productivity suite.
How long does it take?
As a guide, each of the four microcredentials’ content can be covered in 2-4 hours. However, with the reading and support materials provided, you may choose to cover topics at a more leisurely pace.
The Pathways vary in that learners may choose to cover an application at different levels or cover a range of applications at the same level, which can therefore be covered within 8-16 hours as a guide. A learner with a ‘spiky IT skills profile’ can even study a tailored package of microcredentials from within this suite.
Resources
The microcredentials within this Pathway include the following:
- Digital Badge
- A full specification
- OCN London accreditation
- Quality assurance checks from OCN London
- A set of support notes – links to web-materials and guided reading materials
- Teacher support materials – typically course and lesson plans
- Test materials to assess progress
Please discuss further with us if you want to add in additional components such as external assessment.
Funding
OCN London has significant funding expertise, and we can help you to access support.
This can be through supporting learners into employment and progressing to further learning by accessing Adult Skills Funding – Tailored Learning; or enriching Study Programmes by helping to provide students with a structured and challenging learning programme that supports their development and progression.
With overlap to apprenticeship standards, they can also be a funded part of an apprentice’s learning journey.
Who can take these?
At a range of levels, these Pathways and their microcredentials are accessible to a wide range of learners from those with only a rudimentary understanding of IT concepts, through to those seeking to build their IT expertise – and with online materials, it can be taken by 16-19 Learners, 19+ learners and apprentices; in college, at home, or in a workplace.
