Employability Day 30th June 2023 | Larysa’s Story

To celebrate this year’s Employability Day on 30th June 2023, we wanted to take the opportunity to recognise the hard work of one of the many OCN London Centres, who support individuals to enter or progress into employment via our regulated qualifications portfolio.

Larysa is a Ukrainian national who has come to the UK to escape the current conflict in her home country. In an effort to integrate with UK society and to find a job and connections, Larysa enrolled on the Find That Job programme with OCN London Centre, Eat That Frog, who are based in the South West of England.

The programme has been developed in partnership with the Department for Work & Pensions to support claimants looking for local employment opportunities, and utilises the flexibility of OCN London’s employability qualifications to meet the different needs and learning styles of our learners. It focuses on job searches, completing applications, updating CV’s, interview preparation and confidence with digital skills.

Since completing the programme, Larysa has secured full time employment with John Lewis as a Sales Assistant and she said that the overall experience has given her the necessary skills and confidence to be successful in finding a job. Larysa noted specifically that the interview skills and CV sections of the programme were particularly useful in ensuring her success in finding employment.
