Celebrating Access to HE success

Wednesday 2nd September 2026

More than 1,500 Access to HE learners have been certificated by OCN London this academic year, a fantastic achievement for our learners and the providers who have supported them.

Our Access to HE providers have now completed the end of year quality assurance process, enabling successful learners to receive their Diplomas and take their next steps towards higher education.

Behind every result is a considerable amount of hard work and commitment from learners, tutors, internal moderators, Access Coordinators, Centre Moderators and OCN London’s Access to HE team. Together, they help ensure that assessment decisions are fair, consistent and robust, and that learners can progress with confidence.

More than a qualification

For many learners, an Access to HE Diploma is about much more than achieving a qualification. It provides a route into higher education while helping adults develop the subject knowledge, confidence and independent study skills they will need at university.

The experiences of previous OCN London Access to HE learners highlight some of the wider benefits too. Learners have spoken about studying alongside people from different backgrounds and walks of life, learning with their peers, establishing effective study routines and making the most of feedback and guidance from their tutors.

Many Access learners also balance their studies with employment, family life and other commitments. Managing these demands alongside the challenges of returning to education makes their achievements all the more significant and helps prepare them for the next stage of their learning.

As this year’s learners prepare for their next steps, we would like to congratulate them on their achievements and thank all our Access to HE providers, tutors, moderators and colleagues who have supported them along the way.

We are incredibly proud of what our learners have achieved. For them, the next chapter is just beginning, and we look forward to seeing where their Access to HE Diploma takes them.
