Introduction to Assessment and IQA Processes for Newly Recognised Centres

This training session is designed for people who are completely new to formal assessment or those that would like to refresh their knowledge in relation to OCN London expectations and specifically have become an OCN London recognised centre within the past 6 months.

New Centre: Included in new centre recognition.

Existing Centre: £35.

Not open to those not currently recognised by OCN London

During this two-hour session you will:

  • Look at the Quality Assurance cycle in line with OCN London Expectations
  • Consider the purpose of assessment and internal Quality Assurance and the importance of effective assessment design in delivering the centre’s curriculum
  • Look at the role of those involved in the Quality Assurance cycle
  • Review the principles of assessment, assessment methods and command words
  • Learn how to assess work effectively and provide worthwhile feedback
  • Learn how to record outcomes of assessment & IQA
  • Understand what the role of the OCN London EQA is.

This training session is delivered in a small group setting, meaning that it is easy to get direct feedback from our experienced tutor that is relevant to your centre and situation.

Additional information

  • Training is currently provided Online via Teams.
  • Cost is included in initial fees for delegates from OCN London Newly Recognised Centres, or £35 per delegate for existing centres (not suitable for non-member organisations).
  • This training is non-accredited but learners receive a certificate of attendance as evidence for Continuing Professional Development.

Courses not gaining a minimum number of 4 delegates will be cancelled the week prior to the published session date and the online training will be made available to those booked onto the session.
